One year ago today I started walking what amounted to more than 500 miles across northern Spain. It took me 33 days to walk the northern route of the Camino de Santiago, arriving in the pilgrimage city of Santiago de Compostela on May 14, 2009. I have been recounting each day’s walk over the past few weeks; now I am going to publish each etapa on its corresponding day one year later.
